A few years ago we created a short video about the PASD Good Start Program and our beloved board member, Kathy Bruyere, who passed in 2020 and was a long-time care partner for her husband who had Parkinson’s, summed it up in one sentence:
“You cannot do it alone, and you don’t have to do it alone.”
Nothing speaks to the PASD Mentor Program better than those few words. You are not alone.
If you are newly diagnosed and unsure of the future Parkinson’s has in store for you, speak to a mentor who just went through a diagnosis.
If you have had Parkinson’s for a long time and you feel like you could use some direction to stay on a healthy path, speak to a mentor who has lived with Parkinson’s for years.
And if you’re a care partner for someone with Parkinson’s, speak to a mentor who has discovered the best ways to care for a partner and care for yourself.
The mentors are here for you, offering someone to talk to, someone to answer your questions, someone to just be there when you need a compassionate listener.
The program is free to everyone. The mentors are volunteers who are grateful to be able to help, to give back, and to share their journey.
Click below to meet the mentors, click on the pictures to read their bios, then contact a mentor to set up a call. Remember, you don’t have to do it alone.
